Are you willing to make short term sacrifices for your long term success?
Do you know what you’re fighting for? Do you know why you do what you do
everyday? Are you a warrior?
I’m not asking about your 30k foot view. I’m asking about all the little things
that you do everyday.
I’m asking about how you are aligning your everyday decisions with what you
truly want for your one precious life!
Last night I was asked these very questions. And when it was my turn to ask…
the person got silent.
To anyone looking from the “outside in” at my life right now, it might appear a
bit boring or even sad, and I assure you it is not.
Wake, add value & sleep. Repeat.
Right now my day to day life is as simple as possible so all my energy goes
towards moving closer to my goals. Every action serves a purpose.
It reminds me of being back in USCG boot camp – an almost military
precision.
I’m curating my life.
Life is a long game.
It’s the famous Cookie Test that researchers give kids. Short term gain vs.
Long term rewards.
It’s why I have my non-negotiattbles and why daily habits are such a
cornerstone in my life.
Now I’m not saying you need your daily actions to be as drastic as mine.
I am asking you to look and see if your daily actions are moving you towards
or away from your goals?
3 things that will come out paying attention to your habits:
You will gain clarity on how you want to curate your life.
Your resiliency muscle will get stronger as you accomplish #1.
You will be able to make adjustments easier, which will move you closer to
your dreams/goals, which means achieving them sooner.
Most of my life decisions haven’t made sense to anyone but me….. until
people look back and are able to connect the dots. Only then do they
understand how my daily habits and choices have served me, can they see
the bigger picture.
What’s one thing you could change/tweak today that down the road would
make a difference? I’d love to hear you thoughts on this.
